Field Service Veterinarian
|
FHMS has an immediate position for a motivated, professional and organized veterinarian with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Associated Field Service Veterinarian will provide both task orientated and consultative veterinary services to feedlot clients of the respective organizations. Previous experience as a bovine practitioner and dealing with cow/calf and commercial feedlot is considered an asset.
The standard hours of work are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Monday to Friday. In addition, participation in the weekend and statutory holiday veterinarian rotation schedule is required. This position is a FT position starting ASAP.

Feedlot Nutritional and Production Consultant

Are you a technically sound, detail-oriented, data-driven animal scientist with excellent oral and written communication skills that is interested in being part of a dynamic professional services team that conducts large amounts of applied feedlot research as part of delivering production consulting services to commercial feedlots?
Feedlot Health Management Services Ltd. (FHMS) is a professional services company providing comprehensive herd health programs, veterinary services, consulting services and computerized individual animal data collection systems to commercial feedlots throughout western Canada and the United States. In addition, FHMS has extensive research capabilities that focus on identification, development, and evaluation of applied technologies in commercial feedlot production systems. Your duties as a feedlot nutritional and production consultant would include coordinating all activities associated with development of the nutrition program module of the FHMS commercial feedlot service package. In addition, you would be part of the professional services team that delivers FHMS production consulting services to commercial feedlots and you would be part of the FHMS research group that identifies, develops, and evaluates applied technologies in commercial feedlot production systems.
Requirements: - a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the area of feedlot nutrition OR a deemed equivalent combination of education and experience - excellent data analysis skills, including statistical analysis using commercially available software programs such as SAS
