Dr. Pat Burrage

Specialty:  Animal health management Cow/calf, feedlot, alternative livestock (bison/elk).

Education: Bachelor of Science University of Saskatchewan 1985;  Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Western College of Veterinary Medicine 1989.

Biography:  After graduation, Dr. Burrage moved to Alberta and worked as an associated veterinarian in Nanton Alberta. He owned and operated Claresholm Veterinary Services from 1990 – 2002, when he moved to central Alberta. He owned and operated Bluffton Veterinary Services, which started as a single person practice and grew to a 5 veterinarian mixed practice. His primary interest throughout his career has been beef cow/calf. He has also spent a significant amount of time with alternative livestock (bison/elk). In December 2018, he sold his practice in Bluffton with the thought of retiring to the farm to manage a small group of cows. In January 2019, he accepted a short term position at Lethbridge Animal Clinic. He enjoyed the work so much that he has accepted a longer term position providing veterinary consultation services to feedlot, cow/calf clients and the occasional alternative livestock client.
